Itinerary

Day 1Fes Guided Sightseeing Tour

Commence your 6-day Fes to Marrakech desert journey with a guided Fes Sightseeing tour. We’ll pick you up from your hotel/riad, ensuring a comfortable experience in an air-conditioned vehicle accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide.
Our Fes tour highlights include:
• Andalusia Mosque: A historic gem dating back to the 9th century.
• Tanners’ Quarters: Witness the artisanal leather production using natural colors.
• El-Attarine Madrasa: An architectural marvel built in 1325.
• Quarraouine Mosque: The heart of the medina and one of the largest religious sites.
• Azouia Moulay Idriss: A site open to non-Muslims.
• Nejjarine Museum, Royal Palace, Bab Boujloud Gate: Explore these significant landmarks.
We won’t conclude our tour until you’ve experienced the essence of Fes. Finally, we’ll return you to your hotel/riad in Fes for the night and dinner.

Day 2Fes to Midelt via Azrou (Cedar Forest)

After a delicious breakfast, we’ll depart from Fes towards Midelt, passing through the charming town of Ifrane, known for its unique Moroccan-style architecture. En route, we’ll visit the picturesque cedar forests in Azrou, where you can observe playful monkeys.
Our journey from Fes to Midelt will be a scenic one, taking you through enchanting forests, natural springs, and quaint Berber villages. Upon arrival in Midelt, we’ll check you into your hotel/riad for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3Midelt to Merzouga Sahara Desert

Following breakfast, we continue our 6-day Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes. Along the way, we’ll make several stops to capture stunning photos, relish the cool breeze, and take in panoramic vistas. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore a lush oasis of palm trees.
We’ll arrive in Merzouga and arrange your accommodation in a hotel/riad for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4Merzouga Desert Exploration and Camel Trek

On the next day, we’ll set out to visit the captivating KHAMLIA village and enjoy the enchanting sounds of Gnawa music. Additionally, we’ll explore deserted mines, meet Berber nomads, and stroll through palm tree oases.
After returning to Merzouga for lunch and relaxation, we’ll embark on a thrilling camel trek through the sand dunes. As the sun sets, you’ll have the opportunity to capture the breathtaking moments of the Sahara’s golden hues. Your night will be spent in well-equipped desert camp, complete with the mesmerizing rhythms of drum music in the nomad Berber tents.

Day 5Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.

Day 5Merzouga to Ouarzazate via Gorges

Begin your day early by taking a serene walk over the sand dunes to witness the stunning sunrise. Afterward, return to your hotel for a refreshing shower, breakfast, and relaxation.
Our journey continues towards the gorges, with a stop in Rissani to explore the historic monument of Sijilmassa, once a prominent center of desert trade. You’ll also have the chance to visit Kasbahs (fortified villages). Continuing through Ziz valley and gorges, a brief walk in Todra gorge allows you to appreciate the beauty of rivers and mountains.
Finally, we’ll reach Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or traditional Kasbah.

Day 6Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou and High Atlas

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Studios movie studio in Ouarzazate.
We’ll then head to the Fint Oasis near Ouarzazate before embarking on the Tizi-n-Tichka road, where we’ll pause for lunch. The journey culminates in Marrakech in the late afternoon, marking the end of your 6-day desert adventure from Fes to Marrakech.
